Construction & Fire Performance
A fire-rated double door must seal across the meeting edge — that is the job of the overlapping astragal and the coordinator, which forces the inactive leaf home before the active leaf closes so the latch engages. Our pairs are engineered and factory-prepped as a unit, with fire-rated intumescent seals along the meeting edge and perimeter. Each leaf carries its own WHI label, and the full pair is tested to UL 10C / NFPA 252 for its rating.
